It's only when the tide goes out that you learn who has been swimming naked. -- Warren Buffet, 1993 | Price is what you pay. Value is what you get. -- Warren Buffet, 1996 | There is no formula to figure out (intrinsic value). You have to know the business. ...in the short run, the market is a voting machine; in the long run, it's a weighing machine. -- Warren Buffet, 1996 | Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long ago. -- Warren Buffet, 1996 | Of course the investor of today does not profit from yesterday's growth. -- Warren Buffet, 1951 | Forecasts usually tell us more of the forecaster than of the future. -- Warren Buffet, 1997

Business Appraisals

Fees And Payment

Our fees are based on the number of hours required by each staff member to complete the appraisal assignment. The fees will be different for every case and may range from $1,800 to $15,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the company and the assignment and on the purpose for which the appraisal is needed.

We are happy to quote estimated and "not-to-exceed" fees. Such quotations can only be made after initial discussions have been held and certain data has been supplied.

Fees are never contingent upon the values reported.

Fees for an appraisal report do not include preparation for or testimony in court proceedings. Those fees are quoted separately but on a similar basis.

We always confirm the fees and the nature and scope of the assignment for you in a written "Letter of Agreement." A retainer of 50% of the estimated cost of the appraisal is required as your confirmation of our "Letter of Agreement." The balance of the fee is payable on completion of the assignment.

The time required to complete the work also varies in each instance. It could be from three to four weeks to as long as 15 or 20 weeks. A norm for a written report is perhaps six to eight weeks after receipt of all required data.
